Decorating Hoodies the Right Way

Fleece is a heavier, often napped or textured fabric, and that texture is where methods start to differ. DTG's fine inkjet detail is built for smooth, tightly-woven cotton, so it can struggle to lay down cleanly on thicker or textured fleece — for full-color, photo-style art on a hoodie, DTF or screen printing generally give a more reliable result. DTF in particular adheres well to fleece and blended fabrics and holds up on dark garments with bright, full-color artwork, which is why it's often the better call for a hoodie specifically rather than a lightweight tee.

Screen printing remains the most cost-effective route for larger group orders — team hoodies, school spirit wear, staff apparel — where the design uses a handful of solid colors and the piece count is high enough to amortize the per-color screen setup. The thick, layered ink screen printing lays down also handles heavier fleece well and withstands heavy wash-and-wear over a long season.

Embroidery earns its place on a hoodie the same way it does on a polo — a left-chest or sleeve logo, durable and premium-feeling, rather than a large full-coverage design. It pairs naturally with a printed back or front design when a hoodie needs both a small branded mark and a larger graphic.

Construction matters too: a pullover's front pocket limits how far down a full-front print or embroidery can sit, while a full-zip hoodie opens up the entire front panel as usable space. We'll walk through placement — full front, left chest, full back, sleeve — against your specific hoodie style before anything goes into production.

Pricing & Turnaround

Hoodie pricing is driven by the blank hoodie cost (pullover vs. zip-up, and fleece weight), the decoration method and design size, and the quantity ordered. Screen printing gets more cost-effective the larger the group order, since the per-color setup amortizes across more pieces; DTF and embroidery don't carry that same setup cost, so smaller orders are more practical with those methods.

There's no strict minimum on most orders, though a large solid-color screen-printed design is more economical at real team or group quantities than as a one-off. We'll recommend the most cost-effective method for your actual order size rather than defaulting to one method regardless of quantity.

Most hoodie orders are ready in about 7 to 10 business days after proof approval. Free local pickup is available at our Hallandale Beach shop, and we ship and arrange local delivery across Miami-Dade and Broward.
