Custom DTF Printing in South Florida
DTF — direct-to-film — is the newest of the printing methods we run, and it fills a real gap the older ones leave open: full-color, photo-quality artwork on almost any fabric, not just cotton. Where DTG needs a cotton-heavy blend to hold ink well and screen printing needs a separate screen per color, DTF prints your design onto a film first and heat-presses it onto the garment after — which means the fabric underneath barely matters. Cotton, polyester, poly-blends, fleece, even some nylon all take a DTF transfer the same way.
We run DTF in-house at our shop in Hallandale Beach for South Florida businesses, teams, and event organizers who need vivid, detailed artwork on a mixed order — cotton tees for some people, poly-blend athletic shirts or hoodies for others — without printing two different jobs. There's no fabric-driven minimum the way some methods carry, and most orders are ready within about a week of proof approval. Send us your design and quantity and we'll tell you plainly whether DTF, DTG, or screen printing is the better fit before you commit to anything.
How DTF Printing Works
Your design prints onto a special PET film in reverse, in full CMYK color, with a white ink layer printed underneath to keep colors opaque and true on dark garments. While that ink is still tacky, we apply a fine adhesive powder over the printed area and cure it, which fuses the powder into a durable transfer layer. The finished transfer is then heat-pressed directly onto the garment at high temperature and pressure, and the film backing peels away, leaving the design bonded to the fabric.
Because the transfer bonds through heat-activated adhesive rather than ink soaking into the fibers, fabric type stops being the limiting factor it is with DTG. There's no pretreatment spray-and-cure step either — the same film transfer goes onto a white tee, a black hoodie, or a poly-blend jersey with the same process and the same color result.
DTF holds color vibrancy across a lot of wash cycles and stands up well over time, though being honest about the tradeoff: because the design sits as a thin bonded layer rather than absorbing into the fabric the way DTG ink does, very heavy long-term wear can eventually show light cracking at the edges on some fabrics, generally well past 50–100 washes. In exchange, you get a wider color gamut, no fabric pretreatment, and consistent results across whatever mix of garments your order includes.
The hand-feel sits between the two other digital methods: DTF sits a little more on top of the fabric than DTG's soft, absorbed finish, especially on a large design, but it's noticeably more flexible and durable through washing than a comparably large screen-printed area.

DTF earns its place on jobs where the design has real color complexity or the order mixes fabric types:
- Full-color & photo-style designs — gradients, photographic art, and multi-color logos that would be cost-prohibitive to screen print, on any garment color.
- Mixed-fabric orders — cotton tees, poly-blend performance shirts, and fleece hoodies printed with the same design in one run, no fabric-specific setup.
- Hoodies & fleece — DTF adheres reliably to heavier, textured fleece that can be a tougher surface for DTG's fine inkjet detail.
- Athletic & poly-blend apparel — jerseys and performance wear that don't hold DTG ink well take a DTF transfer cleanly.
- Small-to-mid runs with full color — no per-color screen setup means a 12-piece full-color order isn't penalized the way it would be in screen printing.
- Dark garments with bright artwork — the built-in white base layer keeps colors true on black and navy without a separate pretreatment step.

Pricing & Turnaround
DTF pricing is driven mainly by the size of the printed design and the number of pieces — not the number of colors, since there's no per-color screen setup the way there is with screen printing. That means a 6-color photographic design costs the same to print as a 2-color logo of the same size, which is exactly where DTF earns its keep against screen printing on detailed art.
There's no fabric-driven minimum — a DTF order can mix cotton tees, poly-blend shirts, and fleece hoodies in the same run without a fabric surcharge. Very small orders are practical here in a way they aren't with screen printing, since there's no screen to burn per color; per-piece cost still improves at higher quantities the way any decorated-garment order does.
Most DTF orders are ready within about 5 to 7 business days of proof approval, with faster turnaround available on smaller runs. Free local pickup is available at our Hallandale Beach shop, and we ship and arrange local delivery across Miami-Dade and Broward.

Custom DTF Printing in South Florida — frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum order for DTF printing?
No fabric-driven minimum. Because there's no per-color screen setup, small orders and even single pieces are practical with DTF — unlike screen printing, where a low piece count makes the setup cost less worthwhile. Per-piece cost still improves at higher quantities.
What fabrics does DTF work on?
Nearly all of them — cotton, polyester, poly-blends, fleece, and even some nylon. DTF transfers bond through a heat-activated adhesive rather than ink soaking into the fibers, so fabric type matters far less than it does with DTG or screen printing. That makes it the right choice for mixed-fabric orders.
How long does a DTF order take?
Most DTF orders are ready within about 5 to 7 business days after you approve your proof, with smaller runs often faster. Tell us your deadline when you first reach out and we'll flag early if a rush is needed.
How is DTF different from DTG or screen printing?
DTF prints onto a film first and heat-presses the transfer onto the garment, so it works on far more fabric types than DTG (which prints ink directly into cotton fibers and needs pretreatment for dark garments) and doesn't require a separate screen per color the way screen printing does. Choose DTF when your design has real color complexity and your order mixes fabric types or garment weights, like tees and fleece hoodies together.
Which areas do you serve?
We print DTF transfers for customers throughout Miami-Dade and Broward from our shop in Hallandale Beach. Each city we serve has its own DTF printing page with local pickup and delivery details — pick yours from the list on this page or ask us when you request your quote.
How durable is a DTF print?
Very durable and consistently vibrant through normal washing — DTF tends to hold its color longer than DTG. Because the design sits as a bonded layer rather than absorbing into the fabric, very heavy long-term wear can eventually show light cracking at the edges on some fabrics, generally well past 50 to 100 washes. Standard care (cold wash, no high-heat dryer) extends that considerably.
