Custom DTF Printing in Fort Lauderdale, FL

DTF is the method we reach for when a Fort Lauderdale order spans multiple garment types — the marine company that needs cotton tees for the yard crew and polyester moisture-wicking shirts for the dock staff, the restaurant that wants staff tees plus event caps, the contractor whose crew needs branded ripstop workwear alongside branded office polos. Because DTF transfers apply to virtually any fabric, we press cotton, polyester blends, ringspun, tri-blend, ripstop workwear and headwear from the same production run.

That is why DTF handles the middle of our Fort Lauderdale volume — the 5-to-40-piece orders where screen printing would be uneconomical and DTG would need four different garment styles. Our shop is at 389 NE 2nd Ave in Hallandale Beach — a 15–20 minute drive south of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Free pickup at the shop is always available; delivery into Fort Lauderdale is available on orders above 25 pieces.

We also operate SoFLo DTF, our sister DTF-supply business in South Florida — which means we control our own transfer film and adhesive-powder sourcing rather than depending on third-party wholesalers. Fresher transfers, tighter quality control, and pricing that reflects wholesale-plus-application rather than reseller markup.

The process

What Is DTF Printing?

Direct-to-film (DTF) printing produces a full-color, high-durability image on a special film that is then heat-pressed onto the finished garment. Because the design is printed on film before it touches the fabric, DTF is not limited by the garment's color, texture or fiber content — the same transfer applies just as cleanly to a white cotton tee as to a black polyester hoodie or a canvas tote.

How the DTF Process Works

Your artwork is printed in full CMYK plus a white underbase onto a specialty PET film. While the ink is wet, a thermoplastic adhesive powder is applied to the print, then cured under heat. The result is a heat-transferable image ready to press onto any garment.

At the press step, we align the transfer onto the finished garment, apply heat (around 305°F) and pressure for about 15 seconds, cool the transfer, and peel the carrier film away. The image bonds directly to the fabric — soft to the touch, stretchable with the fabric, and washable up to 50+ cycles when cared for correctly.

Because we also operate SoFLo DTF, our sister DTF-supply business in South Florida, we control our own transfer film and adhesive-powder sourcing rather than depending on third-party wholesalers. That means fresher transfers, tighter quality control, and pricing that reflects wholesale-plus-application rather than reseller markup.

DTF vs Screen Printing

Screen printing wins on quantity and long-term wash durability. If you're ordering 50+ pieces of the same design on the same garment, screen printing is usually cheaper per shirt and slightly more durable at the extreme end of the wash-cycle curve.

DTF wins everywhere else. On orders under 40–50 pieces, DTF's zero setup fee and zero color-count surcharge beat screen printing on price. On multi-color, gradient, or photographic art, DTF is dramatically better. And on mixed-garment orders where the design has to appear on a cotton tee, a polyester hoodie, a nylon jacket and a cap, DTF handles all four in one run.

DTF vs DTG Printing

DTG (direct-to-garment) prints ink directly into the fibers of the shirt and produces a very soft, natural feel. On 100% cotton light-colored garments in single-piece orders, DTG is often the better choice for feel.

DTF wins when the garment isn't ideal for DTG: dark polyester, tri-blend, polyester-heavy performance wear, non-cotton fabrics, textured materials, or anything that isn't a flat cotton canvas. DTF also wins across mixed-fabric orders, and on price for orders above about 10–15 pieces.

Who we print for

DTF Printing for Fort Lauderdale Customers

Fort Lauderdale's DTF volume is concentrated in three categories: the marine and boating industry around Port Everglades, the restaurant and hospitality corridor along Las Olas and A1A, and the contractors and trades operating across Broward County. Each takes advantage of DTF for a different reason. Here is what those orders actually look like.

Marine & Yacht Industry Workwear

The marine trades around Port Everglades and the 17th Street Causeway marinas need branded workwear across multiple garment types — cotton tees for the yard crew, polyester moisture-wicking shirts for the dock staff, nylon windbreakers for the captains, and caps for everyone. DTF handles all four in one production run, with the same company logo appearing at the same size and color across every garment type.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show exhibitors use DTF for mixed-garment brand packages — staff tees, branded caps, and event polos all from the same order. We keep the artwork on file for annual reorders; boat-show orders typically run 20–80 pieces across 3–5 garment types.

Las Olas & A1A Hospitality

Restaurants along Las Olas Boulevard and the beachfront hospitality strip on A1A use DTF for mixed-garment staff uniform packages — front-of-house polos in a moisture-wicking blend, kitchen tees in cotton, and event caps for the season. DTF handles all three in one production, with the same logo appearing at the same size and color across every garment.

Beach hotel properties along A1A use DTF for uniform refreshes where the garment mix changes seasonally — cotton polos in winter, moisture-wicking synthetic in summer, jackets for events. We keep the artwork on file, so refresh orders are a phone call: sizes, quantities, garment specs.

Contractors & Trades Across Broward County

The contractor base operating out of and around Fort Lauderdale — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, marine and construction trades — needs branded workwear across ripstop shirts, hi-vis vests, cotton tees for hot days, and hoodies for cool mornings. DTF applies just as well to a stiff ripstop workwear shirt as it does to a hi-vis vest or a cotton tee. Left-chest logo standard; full-back for higher-visibility branding on job sites.

Capabilities

What We Can DTF Print

Garments & Fabrics

DTF works on virtually any fabric: 100% cotton, polyester, nylon, tri-blend, cotton-poly blends, ripstop workwear, moisture-wicking performance fabric, canvas, denim, fleece, and structured caps.

Best results on: flat, smooth fabric surfaces. Works on textured fabrics but transfer adhesion may vary on very rough or heavily textured materials.

Not ideal for: waterproof membranes (Gore-Tex, DWR-coated fabrics) where heat pressing may damage the coating.

Design & Color Capabilities

Unlimited colors — DTF prints full CMYK with no color-count surcharge. Photographic art, gradients, fine detail, and complex multi-color designs all reproduce cleanly. No setup fee. Each garment type in a mixed order uses the same transfer, so the logo is identical across every piece.

Print area: up to 14" × 16" on adult garments. Left-chest logo: 3.5–4" wide standard. Full-front, full-back, and sleeve prints available.

TURNAROUND & PRICING

Turnaround, Pricing & Delivery in Fort Lauderdale

Standard Turnaround

Most DTF orders under 50 pieces turn in 3–5 business days from artwork approval. Larger orders (100–500 pieces) typically take 5–7 business days depending on garment sourcing. Orders using stocked in-house blanks and previously-digitized artwork can often turn in 24–48 hours.

Turnaround starts when the proof is approved, not when the order is placed — the sooner you approve, the sooner production starts. Rush production is available on most orders at an additional fee; ask when you request the quote.

Same-Day Availability

For DTF orders under 25 pieces, drop off print-ready artwork at 389 NE 2nd Ave in Hallandale Beach — a 15–20 minute drive south of Downtown Fort Lauderdale on I-95 or Federal Highway — by noon on a weekday and same-day pickup by 5:30 PM is realistic. Standard cotton, poly-blend, and tri-blend shirts are stocked in-house.

Call ahead if the deadline is tight — some days our press is backed up and we'll tell you honestly whether we can hit your cutoff. If we can't, we'll usually offer next-morning pickup as an alternative.

Local Delivery vs Free Pickup

Pickup at 389 NE 2nd Ave in Hallandale Beach is always free, Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Free parking in front of the shop.

Local delivery within Fort Lauderdale (33301) is available on orders above 25 pieces at a flat delivery fee, or free on orders above 100 pieces. Delivery is typically same-day for orders ready before 2 PM, or next-morning otherwise.

Shipping is available anywhere in the US via tracked UPS or USPS. Standard shipping runs 2–5 business days depending on the destination; expedited overnight is available for a fee. Most Fort Lauderdale customers pick up locally to skip the shipping wait.

How to order

How to Order DTF Printing in Fort Lauderdale

Our order process is designed to be short and honest. Five steps from first contact to finished pickup. Most customers complete steps 1–3 the same day and have shirts in hand within the week, with pickup or delivery to Fort Lauderdale.

  1. 1

    Prepare Your Artwork

Preferred format: 300 dpi PNG with a transparent background at the print size (12" wide for full-front, 3.5" for left-chest). Vector formats (AI, EPS, PDF) also welcome and preferred for logos. If your artwork is a low-res JPG, phone photo, or hand-drawn sketch, we can usually recreate it — either at no charge for simple logos or for a small art-prep fee on complex re-draws. Send it and we'll tell you.

  2. 2

    Get a Quote

Send your artwork, the garment type(s) and quantities, and any deadline. We reply with a per-shirt price, garment options in your size range, an honest turnaround estimate, and a proof-approval timeline. Quotes are usually returned within one business day; often same-day for standard requests. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

  3. 3

    Approve the Proof

Once you accept the quote, we send a digital mock-up showing your design at scale on the actual garment color and style. Approve, request changes, or ask questions. We don't start production until you approve — no surprises, no charges before you sign off. Most proofs are approved within one round; complex artwork sometimes takes two.

  4. 4

    Production

After proof approval, production begins immediately. Standard turnaround is 3–5 business days for orders under 50 pieces; longer for larger runs. You'll receive an update when production is complete and your order is ready. If a rush deadline is in play, we confirm the pickup or delivery date at proof approval, not after production.

  5. 5

    Pickup or Delivery

Pick up in person at 389 NE 2nd Ave in Hallandale Beach (free, Monday–Friday 9:30 AM–5:30 PM) or opt for delivery into Fort Lauderdale on orders above 25 pieces. For out-of-area orders we ship tracked UPS or USPS anywhere in the US. Payment is due at pickup or before delivery; we accept credit card, ACH, and business check. Repeat customers can set up net-15 terms after their first order.

FAQ

DTF Printing in Fort Lauderdale — frequently asked questions

What garments can you print DTF on?

Virtually any fabric: cotton, polyester, blends, tri-blend, ringspun, marine ripstop workwear, canvas, denim, and headwear. Both dark and light garments print equally well. DTF is the method to choose when your order mixes garment types or fabrics — the reason Fort Lauderdale’s marine and hospitality crews use it.

How long do DTF prints last through washing?

Properly applied DTF prints hold up through 50+ wash cycles when garments are washed inside-out on cold and tumble-dried low. Slightly softer to the touch than screen printing at similar durability. Do not iron directly over the print — iron the reverse side or use a pressing cloth.

What’s the minimum order for DTF printing?

There is no minimum. Order one shirt or four hundred. No setup fee, no color-count surcharge, no per-order minimum. That is what makes DTF the go-to for one-off custom orders and small mixed-garment runs.

How does DTF pricing scale with quantity?

Per-shirt price drops as quantity increases, mostly due to setup and handling efficiency (not the transfer cost itself, which is nearly linear). A ballpark: single shirts run $15–$25 depending on garment and size; 12-shirt orders drop into the $10–$15 range; 50+ orders often price below $10 per shirt. Send your quantity and garment specs for an exact quote.

Can you DTF print marine workwear and restaurant uniforms in Fort Lauderdale?

Yes — yacht-crew and marine-trade workwear around Port Everglades and the marinas, and restaurant and hospitality apparel along Las Olas and A1A (shirts plus caps plus hoodies for kitchen and front-of-house), are one of our regular Fort Lauderdale DTF accounts. DTF handles ripstop, hi-vis, and moisture-wicking synthetics that other methods can’t. Local delivery or pickup at our shop, and we keep artwork on file for reorders — most reorders turn in 3–5 business days.

Can I get same-day DTF pickup in Fort Lauderdale?

Often, yes. It’s a 15–20 minute drive to our Fort Lauderdale shop — drop off print-ready artwork at 389 NE 2nd Ave by noon on a weekday and same-day pickup by 5:30 PM is realistic on DTF orders under 25 pieces on standard cotton or poly-blend shirts, subject to press availability. Call ahead if the deadline is tight; if we can’t hit it, we’ll offer next-morning pickup or a delivery run up to Fort Lauderdale.
